I love my job. Working in the tourism industry and safari camps has granted me the opportunity to become one with nature. Case in point, even the animals (bush buddies) come to say hello. There is one bush buddy in particular a squirrel but not just any squirrel, a Smith’s bush squirrel. Beautiful animal, always hanging around camp especially the office. I love my bush buddy.
These African bush squirrel is small at about 350mm and vegetarian. It also goes by other names, namely the yellow-footed squirrel, tree squirrel in South Africa and Paraxerus cepapi (scientifically). It is found in Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
